The water quality at Big Sandy Bay is normally excellent and safe for swimming.
 
This summer it's easier than ever to double-check the status of the water quality. The Kingston Frontenac Health Unit now has an up-to-date web page summarizing the water quality of Kingston area beaches including Big Sandy Bay.
