Wolfe Island Fox Hound Trials September 5, 6 and 7th 2008

The annual Wolfe Island Fox Hound Trials will take place at Big Sandy Bay on September 5, 6 & 7th under a special permit issued by the Township of Frontenac Islands. Entrance to the area is restricted during this event- (no other dogs please). Please be aware that there may be fox hounds ruuning loose in the management area and along the trail and beach during this event. Please do not pet, feed or restrain these dogs as they are being judged on how well they follow the scent. They have radio transmitters attached to them and their owners know where they are at all times.

Mid-July walk

Late afternoon of the 16th we decided to walk along the trail and see the changes since our last visit in early June. This year's rains have kept the woods damp and streams full as well as ensuring that the woods along the trail are lush and green. As long as the weather stays good, there'll be lots for our migrating friends to eat this Autumn.
