Group Tours

I am bringing a youth group from our church to the beach in September. I know there is a group rate available and I would be interested in knowing more about it.

By the way, I was to the beach for the first time last week and I must say that it is incredible. Very clean. Well done.

The Township of Frontenac Islands does not charge admission after the Labour Day weekend as the area is not staffed. During the operating season there is "group rate" for organized group of 15 or more.

Friends of Big Sandy Bay could provide an interpretative walk for your group in exchange for a donation. Let me know if you are interested in that option.

Exactly what does an interpretive walk include? And how long does it take? We will make a donation regardless.

Depending on the size of your group, one or more knowledgeable people will meet you at the reception area, give you a brief orientation and then lead an interpretative walk along the trail and on to the beach. The length of the tour and the depth of information provided are dependent on the physical abilities and interests of the group visiting.

I am the special program director with a Summer Arts Adventure Camp. I would like to bring 49 campers to the bay. We are planning an art activity to do while we are at the bay, and do a little hike around the area. What's the cost for these two days of day-use? Thanks so much.

Thank you for your interest in Big Sandy Bay. Unfortunately, there is no overnight camping at Big Sandy Bay. It is a day use area only. That said, it is a wonderful place for a day trip. Many artists spend time there.

Large organized groups such as yours can pre-arrange a reduced fee of $3.00 per person (2008 rates). To ensure the lower fee, you must make arrangements in advance. Groups are expected to arrive by bus, as parking at the site is limited.

During the summer operating season, BSB staff will guide your group down the 1.3 kilometer trail and help orient you to the area.
